Sometimes life can get in the way, but finally I’ve realised what I’m overlooking thanks to these lovely transcripts and the lovely eye-catching collages. Thanks to Lucia and Silver Willows.
I was one of the lucky fans who made the decision to buy the Limited Collector’s Edition of ‘The Very Best of Enya’ in 2009. There were a few reasons that prompted me to do so including an updated collection genuinely considered “the very best of” by Enya, hopefully some remastered CD recordings, the 12″ picture disc, but most importantly the accompanying 24 page exclusive hard back book which promised new insights from Enya, Nicky, & Roma.
As those of us who ordered this particular box set will remember a notification was sent to us, (by e-mail if my memory serves me accurately), indicating that Enya and Aigle Music were not happy with the finish of the enclosed 12″ book and that purchasers would be receiving a replacement box set as soon as they were ready. I do remember in my own case checking my emails at an internet cafe in town after collecting my new purchase from the local General Post Office Deliveries Office. So, I actually read the e-mail before returning home to open my new purchase.
It was about a week later I think that I was to get another unexpected surprise however. Collecting my post from the hallway one morning, I found a package containing what looked like a CD. Inside was a complimentary CD edition of ‘The Very Best of Enya’ which made my day. Now, not only was I looking forward to owning the Collector’s Edition Box Set of ‘The Very Best of Enya’, but I now also owned a copy of the 18 track CD edition.
The reason I’m recalling these circumstances is that I now realise, as mentioned at the beginning, that I have been largely neglecting the pleasures of listening to these special collections I have in my possession. Life does sometimes get in the way, but now is the time to put that right. Thanks again to Lucia for so diligently transcribing the notes and images from ‘The Very Best of Enya’.

Thanks for the lovely transcription. I don’t own the ‘Very Best of’ CD and never knew these notes existed. It’s always nice to read something written by the trio themselves and, by the sound of it, they’ve led beautiful lives.

“…their Majesties … requested my presence … because they wished to meet me.”
Is it just me, who feels a strong presense of slavery in these words? :(
