There's been quite a lot going on during the weekend - an unusual sight in the Enyaland.
Visit the gallery to see The Very Best of Enya cover and promo photos. There is the balcony image in higher resolution and one completely new picture in which Enya looks prettier than ever. Wallpapers will follow soon. Just tell me what resolution you want ;)
You might have thought that the official store was the only place to get it but that's no longer true. There are also other alternatives:
According to Amazon UK, the digital version of The Very Best of Enya will contain Oíche Chiúin (Chorale) and Only Time (remix) as the bonus tracks.

I've been thinking about redesigning the site since August and the very best of release gave me both a colour scheme and an excuse ;) Everything is still in the testing mode so if you encouter some strange behavior, please let me know. Cheers & enjoy!
Warner Music Japan published a cute never-before-seen photo of Enya. It looks like it was taken during And Winter Came photoshoot.
The USA release date was postponed again, this time to Tuesday 1th December. On the other hand, they are getting a bonus tracks! Yes, I know you've already guessed it yourselves, it is nothing else than Oiche Chiuin :) As for Europe, the release date stays on 20th and 23th November respectively, but there's no sign of a bonus track. The Japanese edition released on 2th December will include 3 bonus tracks: To Go Beyond (Part II), Only If and Dreams Are More Precious.
Amazon.com has a short article about the limited edition mentioning some new information: CD/DVD package will be a hardback deluxe slipcase with book featuring Enya art and images. The Very Best Of Enya CD/DVD package features the most comprehensive Enya DVD to date, encompassing thirteen videos as well as interview and behind the scenes footage. It also includes two making of mini-documentaries examining the creation of the Caribbean Blue and Only Time videos. The DVD will contain audio up mixed to 5.1 surround sound.
I created a page for The Very Best of Enya compilation so all the information can be found at one place. If you go there you can see the new slightly different version of the cover, the back cover and the lovely packaging of the special edition :)
Enfin, bad news for the Japanese Enya fans: the release date was postponed once again. This time to 2th December 2009.
HMV Japan uploaded the European tracklist for The Very Best of Enya. They confirm that Aniron included on the new release is indeed "a previously unreleased version". En plus, the dvd disc will contain three documentary videos: Enya: A Life in Music, Only Time: The Making of the Video and Caribbean Blue: Only Time: The Making of the Video.
Those are nice little documentaries but I'm a tid bit disappointed that they didn't include something more recent like And Winter Came track-by-track guide or a completely new footage. However, I'm still excited about Aniron! Have I already told you that I love the song? Well, I do ;)
Let's start with the bad news: the relase date of the 'best of' was postponed by a week. That means that the new release dates are as follows:
I suspect it might have been caused by the fact that I've put up a countdown ;)
Now the good news is that some of the songs have been newly remastered!
Total: 64:43

You might have noticed that the running time of Aniron listed for the new album is 3:14, however the piece featured on The Lord of the Rings soundtrack is about half a minute longer. I wonder if they've just shortened the orchestral part composed by Howard Shore or cutted it out completely and added the missing stanzas not included in the film.
E mor henion i dhu:
