Trance of Enya DVD

As you probably already know, a new Enya dvd "Trance of Enya: Artiste Legend" was released in Japan and USA. After reading the name and seeing the cover I got the impression that it's just another bootleg. However, later it appeared on Amazon, HMV and other well-known e-shops. Kai was kind enough to share photos and content of the dvd.

Interesting play list. I think at this point this is useless to ask whether 6, 11, 12 are directed music videos, live performances in Japan?) or something else.

Papageno, from what I read on the Internet the dvd is more of a documentary on Enya with various short clips from her videos, interviews, performances and photo footages. It is not a compilation of full music videos.

I believe Kai or someone else who owns the dvd, can give a clearer answer to your question.

i bought this DVD yesterday in Japan
and i play night.
all of interviews with Enya and a documentary .
it's not ofiicial.
i think all of this contents already had a Enya's fan.
expensive and shipping so late.
(to South Korea. )
but i enjoy it.

Dreamer: I completely agree, I don't like the artwork either.

Pher: The dvd was released by Jungle/Jetlink record label. I've never heard of them.

Lestat, it contains lip-synched performance of Book of Days. It's the same as on The Video Collection.

I don't think this is an official Aigle Music release. If you look at the disc, it doesn't even use the official Enya logo, or font. I believe everything that Enya has released has the same Enya logo on it... all the albums, singles, and complilations.

I think "Enya team" lost contact with decent graphic designers already before "Anmarantine" so I am not surprised about this "art work". Makes me wonder what we will find on the upcoming X-mas album ;)

This dvd is like all those Enya Tributes - not released directly by Warner, but Aigle get royalties from the sales. If it was just a plain bootleg as I originally thought, it wouldn't be sold at EIL, Amazon, HMV, ... But it isn't "really" official either.

Papageno, in my opinion the quality of Enya's album artwork is going down. You just can't compare Amarantine and Paint the Sky with Stars. I remember being so disappointed with Amarantine's cover and booklet. Not even mentioning the Christmas edition - I believe that the person who isn't able to cut out Enya's hair from white background properly, shouldn't be profesionally designing covers. However, we can't blame Aigle for this dvd.

This is a little tricky. Simon Fowler took the photo but the conceptual cover design came from Nicky Ryan and his daughter Ebony.

The album booklet design and layout was conceived by Roma, Ebony and Persia Ryan.

The above info can be found on the Amarantine liner notes.

Perhaps, the Ryans should not be designing Enya's booklets at all?

We'll see if they take part in the Christmas album's design and how they fare.

I do hope that the upcomming Christmas album will be designed much better than the previous one. Guess it can't be worse and less imaginative 'cause they haven't got any full album to put a paper cover on it, as it was last time... Yeah, I miss the old artwork which was really awsome. Even ,,A day withou rain'' sheet seems to me quite poor (except for the beautifull cover photo and the font).

At this point, all that I hope for is that the Xmas album will be released this year. However, I am not very optimistic - it's almost mid-November and there is still no news.

I agree that ADWR front/back covers are very nice. I love the photo they used :) Actually, my biggest complain about Enya's booklets is that there are not enough photos or/and they are too small. I know I would be perfectly happy if I got unedited full-sized photos and lyrics in Times New Roman/Arial/whatever. I am a simple girl, y'know ;)

thanx for commenting my comment so soon, Lucia ^^ We all have to be ''simple'' as an Enya's fan is never given enough originals. For me it's ''On My Way Home'' single with the beloved ''Morning Glory''- I'd love to get it.Sad But True, Metallica sings...
As for main topic- ''Book of Days'' performance is something I watch only due to my love for Enya's image.In fact, we can hear her ''live'' voice only at the end and it doesn't sound good... I'm also sick of those kischy cellists.

Regarding Enya's Christmas album, Lucia, I don't think it is reasonable expect it this year. And another thing - I don't think Enya needs another rushed album.

Speaking of album artwork - for me "Watermark" is Enya's classic. And ADWR was nice - simple and relaxed. Done with taste.

I hope that her next album - whenever it is released, Christmas or not - will be artistically more mature, probably more experimental (with "Isobel" & "Sumiregusa" sounds an moods... may be Bryan Eno as guest producer, why not?), but finished and with decent visual artists taking care of art work and videos!

Hey all. Can anyone confirm if the music videos on the DVD are full videos? As regards the cover artwork, it doesn't look too good to me either. But it's worth getting even if only for the music videos :) I also have to say that the Shepherd Moons cover was the best. I believe many will agree with me.

Gealach, I live right under The Tatras, not far from Poland :) I bought OMWH single (LTD) on eBay, it's really very pretty.

Xerxez, the videos aren't full, they're just short clips.

I think there once was a poll about a fav album cover, I'll try to find the results. Maybe, we can have another one :)

Kore, I'll make an extra difficult puzzle for you then :) But I'll have to find a different program - the one I used for the old puzzles allows maximum of 40 pieces.

Why don't Enya and her producers release an official dvd and sell it mass market like all other successful artists do. Why do they allow bootleggers and fringe marketers to profit from the obvious demand.

I don't like artistic album covers. Enya is beautiful and a simple close-up picture is the best cover for me.
Is it only me, or there are more fans that would buy an "Enya's recording studio" video? I mean, just Enya doing her recordings on plain clothes, just jeans. A montage of her with the finished song.
