So you’d like to get Enya’s music videos as well? Obtaining all the videos of your favourite Irish lass is unfortunately not as easy as it might seem. For some mysterious reason (I’d say copyright issues but who knows), there is no single release that would regroup all of them. Uaaah!

The cheapest and easiest way to start your collection is to download the videos from iTunes or other online store. It is fast and you have no dvds to dust and scratch. But if you are like me, you want to hold those shiny little discs in your hands. And I will help you.

I decided to write a series of posts about Enya releases for casual fans and beginner collectors. There is a great number of singles, special editions and promotional items from all over the world and it might be difficult to decide what to buy at first. I will talk mainly about releases that are not impossible to obtain and can be either still found in online stores or at least show up on eBay quite often.

The first article is going to talk about ‘A Box of Dreams’ and ‘Only Time’ collections, and ‘Amarantine Deluxe Collector’s Edition’ and ‘The Very Best of Enya Collector’s Edition’ deluxe box-sets. These items can be a wonderful start for a new Enya fan (that’s how I started!) or an easy upgrade for someone who owns the studio albums and wants to move on. The artwork is usually beautiful and these editions contain exclusive material that you won’t get on iTunes or regular albums.

Our little gallery is slowly growing and now contains 1625 pictures. The newest photos are always first: Amarantine (thanks to Elizabeth), Shepherd Moons, Watermark, Tokyo.

Special mention for the pictures from The Very Best of Enya Collector’s edition booklet. The quality is unfortunately not amazing as they are not very large to begin with and I don’t have my scanner with me. I just took photos with my camera and cleared them up in Photoshop. My favourite is the sunset photo and I used it as my wallpaper.

In other news, yours truly is also enlarging her Enya collection and ordered the Grammy EPK because it contains an alternative version of A Life in Music documentary. Five minutes later, she found out that a part of the alternative version can be seen online on the Stylorouge website. It’s very close to the standard version available on Enya – The Video Collection & The Very Best of Enya DVD but the footage is a bit different and Enya talks about Fallen Embers and Tempus Vernum in the end.

Today, I received my copy of The Very Best of Enya Collector’s Edition and I’m still drooling over it. The photos are just so pretty that I want to keep the booklet under my pillow and never part with it. The liner notes are much longer than in the cd/dvd version and there is some information that I didn’t know. I was especially excited to learn that the name of Enya’s first composition was An Taibhse Uaighnearch – The Lonely Ghost. How cool is that?

Anyway, here is the second installment of our Enya quiz tentatively called “Useless Enya trivia for die-hard fans”. There is also an easy quiz in the making for those of you not obsessed enough to answer this kind of questions.

Special mention goes to Skyscape who scored 11 out of 11 in the last quiz. Bravo!

Finally a first sight of a promotial activity! Eurochannel wil broadcast an exclusive interview and video clips of Enya on January 10th at 8pm. Soon, Eurochannel will also organize a contest with limited editions of The very best of Enya on their website.

The Italian guys at the Sail Away blog already got the new release and promptly took photos of the booklet. Aaah, it’s just stunning! I love it to pieces. Now, I’m even considering the super expensive collector’s edition just to get those images in 12"x12" format. Maybe…or maybe not. Here ya go!
